Either this was one of the worst GM moves of all time OR in 3 or 4 years there will be a generational talent available and the Mavs will just happen to have their lottery ball pulled and we’ll know the NBA wasn’t happy with their current product in the year 2025.
It’s NBA’s #1 or #2 long-term asset (Wemby is the debate) going to NBAs #1 brand. And the return was so low that a team famously known for their lack of assets was ALSO able to pick up a good young center to pair with him. It can’t JUST be incompetence.
